About.
Hi! I’m Moira, dog trainer originally from Melbourne, now living in Paris. When I was a kid I drew pictures of dogs, watched dog hero movies on repeat, read puppy training books and studied breed guides for fun.
In primary school, my parents bought me a puppy - a white, fluffy Maltese-Shitzu with soft brown ears who I named Pansy. Mum and Dad didn’t pull me up on that one bless them. Pansy was soon monopolised by my mum who didn’t know she had the dog-lover gene in her.
It wasn’t until later in life that I met a dog who I could truly call my own. Rescued from the wild as a juvenile, Roxy was wary of humans but loved other dogs. Watching the spectacle of her play tag with her dog friends whilst escaping the grips of her human handlers, I knew she would be a challenge and couldn’t resist. A decade on, Roxy remains my dear buddy and great teacher.
When my dog obsession didn’t end by adulthood I realised I had to do something about it. In 2018, I completed my dog trainer accreditation in Australia.
I especially love working with puppies and new dog owners. Nodding to the old adage, “Prevention is better than cure”, I truly believe behavioural challenges can be side-stepped through simple and effective puppy training, done at home, during the early weeks.
COMMIT To Your Puppy is my passion project to help owners train good attitude and behaviour in their puppies. It is a complete training guide addressing what to do in the first 6 weeks after you bring your fresh, eager friend home. The six key areas covered are Confidence, Obedience, Manners, Mouthing, Independence and Trust.
I’m so thrilled you’re committed to giving your puppy a stellar start in life and to share my knowledge with you!
